Back to the origin : Linkin Park
2009-01-04 02:44 pmthe GazettE fans probably have known this,
but the OHP announced of the release date for their new single,
Distress and Coma
on March 25th, some 2 weeks after their 7th anniversary.
Listening to the BGM there,
made me think of Linkin Park.
One of the bands I listened to, when I was exposed to the music world some years ago.
(Oh btw the BGM is super nice, can I rape the person who arranged the piano thar przkthx)
Back to Linkin Park,
I was super- hyped when I got to buy their first album, Hybrid Theory.
Of course in cassette form (OMG I'M SO OLD), since...well, my dad bought it for me, so XD
The songs sounded so interestingly raw and hard, I fell in love with their genre right there and then.
I remember I liked Papercut and Crawling very much, cuz of the videos.
(And I still wonder why they named the song Papercut, even though there's no mention of the word anywhere...and it seems that it's normal to do that now eh.)
Ah, I copied the album cover's soldier with the flag, and I loved it =3
Meteora was cool too, cooler than Hybrid Theory.
My official most favorite song of the album, in fact of all their works, is Faint.
The video for Faint is the coolest too, simply done, and hype-inducing at the same time.
This time the songs weren't as hard as the first album's, they're focusing more on...um, speed play? Or something.
(I royally suck at description, remember?)
And they're leaning more to hip-hop influence I guess.
Not a bad thing though.
Then Reanimation came out.
A remix album, and I can say honestly that I like it.
I don't like remixes much, but this album sounds different than its parent album, while still keeping the...what, essence? Feel? of it.
Then somewhere later, Minutes to Midnight came out.
Frankly I don't like this album at all when I first listened to it, haha.
Mainly cuz it became more mainstream.
But "They've improved a lot" -- quoting a friend -- on this album.
They grew, and when I listened to it again slowly and more attentively, I did realize that they've become a lot better.
And I began to like this album bit by bit, even though I still prefer the two earlier albums better, but still.
So today, I found their albums and am beginning to re-discover them, again.
After 6 years, wow.
Okay I'm done.
Not J-rock related at all, this entry. I'm proud of myself XD
A Reason to Smile today :
Re-sorting Miyavi's and Linkin Park's albums -- GOD IT'S TIRING hahahaaa but in the end it's organized somewhat, so =3
