i've never felt this immersed in something since Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children, which is around 2-3 years ago. okay, maybe since Miyavi (a bit less than 1 year ago i guess). i have never tried to understand so much about one thing, feel completely preoccupied by something, for the longest of time.
yes, it's The Lord of the Rings.
i've finished watching the (extended version) movies, and honestly i was greatly touched by the parting scene where Frodo leaves his Hobbit friends for Valinor. great job Peter Jackson, and i know i'm late in realizing how awesome the movie is, but the fact remains that it is one of the greatest title to ever remain in my memory.
i am so definitely getting the books. no matter how difficult the language might be. yes, that's how far a fandom can get you. it's the passion to know more, to go deeper into the heart of it all.
and Aragorn's ring is cool, i want one~ or Elrond's 'tiara' (okay, crown, but it's more like a tiara to me). i looked for Aragorn's ring on eBay, and GOD it's waaay expensive. agh i want it someday~
oh right. quick fan-rants.
i like Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), really i do. his smirk (smirk? snicker? etc) is good to look at. heh. and it's actually kinda funny to see the Men race, how the men all have sort of the same-length-hair. but i like them.
also it should be amusing to mention that the guy who played Elrond (Hugo Weaving), also plays V in V for Vendetta and Agent Smith in The Matrix. i like Elrond too, dunno why.
Gimli and Legolas, they're the best/weird duel-partners ever. "I feel something...a tingling in my fingers. I think it's affecting me" -- who says that in a drinking game if not an Elf? ahaha one of the best scenes ever XD
Arwen (Liv Tyler) is really pretty. i don't think i've ever said that about an actress before, well maybe except for Keira Knightley, but she is absolutely beautiful.
Frodo reminds me too much of Harry Potter, wonder why? the angst, the pain maybe?
i like the Nazguls too, they're freaking COOL. the design is waaay better than the Dementors (Harry Potter).
