GeI! 2005 Summer Break SP

It's scary how there's nothing bothering me right now when I think I should have something school-related to do at the moment...but I just can't point a finger to it. So whatever.

GeI!'s group trip specials are always super-fun! But sadly only two of those specials are subbed -- the 10th anniversary and winter break trips -- so it's pretty unfortunate for us who aren't fluent in Japanese to fully enjoy them. Btw, did anyone find the subbed version of the other break specials?

I just realized that coding and timing are the hardest part of subbing the raw vid -- I tried it a few days back, and I don't think I'll try it again in the near future...prolly after graduating, yeah, but now, NO. So instead, I'll just sub screencaps XD

Here's the general gist of what were happening in the 2005 Gakkou e Ikou! Summer Break SP, as understood generally by yours truly :3 Just take note though, this is only the first few minutes of the whole show -- if I'm enthusiastic enough, I'll try doing it til the end! But with loose translations and fairly guessing at what they talked about though, haha. So any corrections, ideas, mistakes, etc are welcome!

For starters though, here's a short summary of the trip :

The guys have to travel on their own; money for food and lodging along the trip were not provided by the staff. Instead, they have to 'rely on the power of students/school kids' for food and a place to sleep (otherwise they'd have to camp in the provided van). The activities along the trip were suggested by the students themselves :) And the guys basically go to every spot and have fun! XD

Prolly I'll do it narration-style, or something, eh.

Color codes! : Sakamoto | Nagano | Inocchi | Go | Ken | Dekoppachi Okada


So, after the guys received the 'task' from Mino Monta, they took off in the supplied party van :D
Of course the driver is our beloved Leader, Sakamoto; with navigations assisted by Nagano -- typical parental responsibilities, Y/Y?

Sakamoto suggested that the driver and navigator rotation be decided by janken (paper-rock-scissors) --

The rest : "EHHH~?"
Sakamoto : "What do you mean, 'EHHH'?!"
Ken : "Isn't that a leader's job?"

And then Nagano showed them the money provided for the trip --

Inocchi : "How much is there?"
Nagano : "The amount here is too realistic..."
[ The amount is only enough to cover the gas expenses. ]

After lamenting their unfortunate luck (okay extremely exaggerating here), Nagano noticed something --

 

Fukuoka Dome = Yahoo Dome = Fukuoka Yahoo! Japan Dome
They're the same thing :)




(obviously referring to Nagano's 'natural sense' of orientation and navigation skills lol)




(lol @ Go yawning. Who else has this habit of wanting to fall asleep when entering a vehicle?)
(*raises hand*)

Then Inocchi suddenly --

-- broke into a song XD
He sang We Are The World, although with incomprehensible words 8D
To which Sakamoto said :




Touche, Leader.
Everyone laughed and left Inocchi alone with his own solo-singing,
so Inocchi said :

Then Inocchi changed songs (dunno what song that was though);
Ken joined in for a brief moment of fun until Go broke out saying --

I guess the AC didn't reach the back of the van lol 8D
They looked to adjust the AC for the back seats, but found none.
So Ken went up front to figure something out probably.
But Sakamoto said :

Upon that, Ken discovered that --

-- the AC works best in the front hahaaa.
I guess that's the plus side of being the driver and the navigator eh 8D

Looking at how desperate Ken wanted the AC, Nagano said :

But Ken knows that sitting in front = navigator = no playing around/sleeping at the back, so :

After leaving the AC problems aside --

^ (Again, random question : who else takes off their shoes/sandals in vehicles?)
(*raises hand again*)

-- Inocchi broke into another song.
He was singing pretty enthusiastically until --

-- he finally gave up due to the heat XD
 

[ Inocchi's mini-concert ended. ]
[ After 30 minutes... ]

^ Leader asks the navigator (henceforth Navi) for which way to go.
And our Navi replied :

They were reaching the ETC (electronic toll collection) :

Nagano : "To the left, the left." (to take the ticket)
Sakamoto : "You take it!"
Nagano : "There's one on the left, take THAT one!"
Sakamoto : "YOU take it!"
Nagano : "It's too far -- !!" (from the ticket dispenser)

-- lol I see nothing here but a parent's arguments XD

While the parents were arguing over the ticket,
Okada tried to take a photo of the kids guys at the back --
 

^ But he accidentally blocked the CCD camera XD




^ After realizing this, he immediately returns to his seat without managing to take a single photo lol 8D

Later, the group found themselves at a junction --

 

Sakamoto : "So which junction do we take?"
Nagano : "Oita junction."
Sakamoto : "You sure?"
Nagano : "I think so."
Sakamoto : (does the "WTF this is your job!"-look)

^ And Nagano responded by that innocent look of his X'D
The others responded to this lack of 'navigator-ish-trait' too --

And in retaliation --

-- again, the parental arguments.
I can never erase this image ever again.

Then, in boredom, Okada suggested to do something :

^ And Inocchi himself suggested :




^ The ever-famous Yasumi Jikan segment game, Minorikawa 4 XD




^ Cuz the last time that segment was on air was a few months back;
prolly the segment ended or something.
Which is sad cuz I liked it =3=




^ Come to think of it, yeah they've never had all six of them
play this game before 8D
It'll be hella chaotic if they do XD

So since there's no other suggestions, Inocchi came up with one :

^ Weirdly, the other two Tonisen members were the most enthusiastic 8D




^ Inocchi even started singing the intro beats of their hits medley.





-- and after only a few seconds --




^ Yep he ended the medley after only a few seconds of intro lol XD
(note Go's arm/hand -- he was into the song as well HAHA.)




^ So, as per Leader's request, the medley fired off
(with Inocchi singing mains, complete with sound effects XD) --




















-- it was going smoothly until --




^ -- Inocchi made the transition from Take Me Higher into Ai Nanda
by deliberately combining the lyrics into 'WAI nanda' haha 8D

Go fell asleep --

Inocchi : "Leader -- ."
Sakamoto : "What?"
Inocchi : "Go-tsun is sleepinggg."
Go : (suddenly woke up and for some reason, looked behind him; where Ken was also sleeping.)
[ He's talking about YOU! ]

-- so there you go, the journey before they reached their first summer break hot spot :DDD


Let's see if I get enough drive to continue with part 2 sometime later! ★

eheheheee. naw, it's nothing -- actually i did this cuz i had too much free time and the feeling of disgust over assignments and homework lol.

i actually want to do a subbed version of this, but i can't translate a lot of other stuff -- prolly only barely 50% of it it. so it'll be suuuper-cool if someone else who's better at translation to either do this or maybe add in the parts that i can't translate :3 but let's keep that for later, until after i could (manage to) finish this episode :DDD
