Yes, that was Do! Do! Do! by TOKIO :D
After all these times snickering whenever I hear anything about Johnny's, I have to admit that TOKIO is adorable ♥ HAHAHA yes, I said that! Prolly cuz the image I had of Johnny's are that they are boybands who look really pretty and dance in synchronized routines...yes, I'm that stereotypical *hides face in shame*.
But anyway...
This recent TOKIO-fave developed after I watched that J-drama, Manhattan Love Story.
Manhattan Love Story is mainly about a cafe that specializes in coffee, run by a man preferred to be called Master; but no one calls him that, they call him Tenchou-san (roughly 'Mr Owner') instead. Tenchou-san rarely speaks, and whenever he does have to, his only worker there Shinobu will relay his thoughts for him. Yes, relay his thoughts -- cuz somehow Shinobu has this ESP-like ability where he can somehow accurately understands Tenchou-san's thoughts; Tenchou-san nicknamed him 'ESP Shinobu' in his mind lol!
Anyway -- despite the steady string of customers, no one really appreciates coffee as much as Tenchou-san does! The customers who always come are usually there because the cafe has become some sort of a meeting place by habit. And these customers, as the story progresses, will eventually become interconnected not only between themselves, but also with Tenchou-san :D
What sets this story apart from other dramas is that it's kinda unpredictable! A lot of dramas that I've watched, they're kinda easy to tell what's gonna happen next, or how person A relates to person B, etc. But this story, it goes crazy just when you thought you had it right! And that's the element that I'm looking for in a drama X3
Plus Tenchou-san is UBER AMUSING. He's sort of this sad character who only wants his coffee to be enjoyed by people, but then he goes and do something you won't expect him to! AND HE'S MANRII ♥ *koffkoff*
Etto...so, what does this drama have to do with TOKIO?
The drama's theme song, Love Love Manhattan, is cute :3 When the end credits were rolling, I noticed that it was by a band called TOKIO; so I searched for it on YouTube, since I've heard of that name sometime before.
The PV for the song has some familiar faces; two familiar faces, actually! I saw Tenchou-san singing! XDDD His real name is Matsuoka Masahiro btw. And the main vocalist, he's familiar too...just that I can't recall from where. So I Wiki-ed TOKIO.
And there you go, the vocalist is Nagase Tomoya, also a popular actor (btw he looks super-fine in the Love Love Manhattan PV hohoho). From the list of dramas he's acted in, I actually lol-ed and said to myself, "Of course! My Boss My Hero!" (Nagase plays this Yakuza-pretending-to-be-a-17-year-old in that drama!) BUT then, comparing his singing voice to his talking voice, I wondered, "WAAAIT. They're so different!!" LIKE SRSLY. He has this really cheery-manriiness to his talking voice; but when he sings, it's like less harshness to his voice. Maa I can't really describe it well, but the point is they're different XD;
Randomly, I think Nagase and Matsuoka looks a bit alike. Prolly cuz of their really manrii faces? Haha.
Anyhow, when I searched for 'TOKIO' keyword on YouTube, they keep getting me stuff on Tokio Hotel and Tokyo-related stuff. So I had to search with their names in the search box, i.e 'TOKIO Matsuoka' or something...
...AND I DISCOVERED A WHOLE NEW WEIRDLY AMUSING AND ADORABLE GROUP OF PEOPLE ♥
There are PVs of course, and live shows; but most importantly, there's a lot of videos showcasing their randomness; specifically of them being idiots and spazzy and stuff like that. Honestly, what makes me attracted to them is their random dances HAHAHA! And how much they're having fun, even in their PVs -- you can feel the happy aura radiating around them somewhat :D
So there you go; this entry will mark the moment where TOKIO is included in my favorites ☆
...ah, this has turned into a really long entry, hasn't it?
A Reason to Smile today :
...TOKIO da yo ne?
ps : I am in mad love with Matsuoka's voice *squeeeeee*
ps2 : Matsuoka directs most of their PVs! *more squeeeeee*
Nice!
