Things I've learned/re-learned in 2009 :

 

• If you realize you can never belong to a clique/group, then don't force yourself to.
• Trust your instincts; God granted us all with instincts not just for fun, you know.
• Instincts and blind faith are two different things, btw.
• If you feel like doing something, go for it.
• Opportunities don't do second visits that much.
• Taking chances and being reckless are two different things, too.
• Not everyone agrees with you. But that does not mean they have the right to diss you.
• The only guaranteed working relationship is the one you're currently having : with your family.
• There's a reason for everything. Including why people hate you. Be it rational or not.
• If you can talk about other people, other people can talk about you too.
• Even the strongest of friendships can break over a small misunderstanding/miscommunication.
• And the only remedy for that is lowering down your ego.
• People have different opinions, different tastes, different preferences; respect them.
• A smile always brightens up someone's day.
• If you don't do as you say, you're a fucking a-hole.
• Talking behind someone's back is always a bad thing.
• Liking something does not mean you're good at it; but you can learn how to do it, right? :)
• Starting something new is always hard, but not trying something new is boring.
• Regret can come later.
• There's always someone better than you.
• But that doesn't mean you can't beat them.
• It's okay to not like something about a person you look up to. We're humans, and humans are made with imperfections. Either live with it, or shut your mouth from bitching about it.
• Mushy acts of adorations should not be displayed in public, especially in the presence of close friends and families. It's awkward, and it's disrespectful in some cultures.
• "You're not the same person I used to know" -- so what? Some people change, either for the better or for the worse; you can either help him/her get back on the right track, or learn to accept him/her for who he/she is.
• Girlfriends & boyfriends are not superior to your friends. Only marriage is.
• Facebook status wars are fun to read.
• Don't look down on people's dreams.
• Having a degree doesn't promise you a bright future. You have to work your way towards it.
• God will listen to everything you say to/ask of Him.
• Miracles DO happen.
• McD's iced coffee is always superior to Starbucks' caramel macchiato.
